Library Rules and Regulations
- All registered members (Along with library card) of the Rajganj College Central Library shall be allowed admission to the library. Any other person with the permission of the Librarian may enter the library. The right of admission shall be denied to a person if, in the opinion of the Librarian, he/she is: Of unsound mind / misbehavior / Shabbily dressed.
- While entering the library, users/members should leave their personal belongings, such as bags, brief-cases, personal books, and parcels near the counter reserved for this purpose. However, they can carry loose papers and notebooks, laptops, and valuable materials.
- Before entering/leaving the library, every user/member should enter their name and sign in the entrance register kept at the entrance counter.
- Strict silence to be maintained inside the library.
- Using mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
- Books should be handled with care. Marking on the books, tearing pages, etc are most objectionable and may lead to the initiation of stringent disciplinary action on the member.
- The issuance of library books is limited to-
- Student- 2 books for 7 days with one-time renewal facility,
- Faculties- 8 books for 90 days with one-time renewal facility,
- Staffs/Project fellows- 4 books for 15 days with one-time renewal facility.
- Returns of books are mandatory before the due date mentioned in the due date slip attached to the book. A fine of Rs.1/- per day will be levied for overdue books.
- Borrowed books are non-transferable and a borrower shall remain responsible for material issued to him/ her until it is returned.
- Reference books, journals, and magazines are only for consultation within the library and are not to be taken out of the library premises.
- The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
- The loss of Library card should be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian and a fine of Rs.40/- will be charged for re-issue of a Library card.
- The loss of books borrowed by a user in his/her custody, the borrower shall be liable to replace the book or bear the cost of replacement. If the replacement is not done within 15 days, the defaulter will be charged as follows: -
- Three times the cost of the book, if the book is in print.
- Four times the cost of the book, if the book is out of print.
- If the book of a multi-volume set is lost or damaged, the member concerned shall be liable to replace the whole set or pay the cost of the same on the above line.
- Users should obey the library rules and regulations. Violation of rules and any act of misbehavior to the library staff will lead to strong disciplinary action.
Membership
The membership of the College Library is open to the teachers, students and non- teaching staff of the College. The reading facilities are provided to the ex-employees, ex-students and research scholars of the College by the special permission of the College authority.

On week days: 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM
On Saturday: 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Closed on holidays and vacations
