Admission Guidelines
- A student pursuing a subject as a Major Course, will have to opt for SEC in the Major subject.
- Two Minor Courses must be different from the Major Course.
- Three Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) Courses to be chosen from a pool of courses.
- 1. Practical/Tutorial: Every Major and Minor Course will have one Practical/Tutorial. Wherever there is a Practical, there will be no Tutorial and vice-versa.
- 2. A student will have to study two papers each from two Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC), and two papers of Value Added Courses (VAC).

Guidelines for Four Year Under-Graduate Program with Honours with Research
General Information Regarding Admission
- The applicants are advised to read the Admission Notification carefully and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for admission to the Courses for which they have applied.
- If the College Admission sub-committee finds at any stage that the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criterion or that the information given by the candidate is incorrect or suppressed, the admission will be cancelled for which the College will not be liable to furnish any reason.
- If the students take admission inadvertently, their admission will be cancelled subsequently and fees paid will not be refunded.
- All admission will be treated as provisional subject to the Registration or Approval of the University of North Bengal.
- Regarding all admissions, the decision of the College Authority will be final and no further queries will be entertained after the Admission process in closed.
- Bonafide SC/ST and OBC-A / OBC-B will be considered for admission under Reserve Category as per Rules.
- Submission of Application Form for admission does not imply any right to admission in the course applied for.

Necessary Documents For Verification
- Original Admit Card / Certificate of Secondary or Equivalent Examination or birth certificate for verification of Age.
- Passport Colour Photographs - 2(Two) copies.
- Original Mark sheet of 10+2 / or Equivalent Examination
- Original OBC-A / OBC-B. Certificate in the name of the candidate to be produced at the time of Form Verification/Submission, if applicable.
- Original SC/ST certificate in the name of the candidate for this Reserve Category, if applicable, from Competent Authority at the time of form verification/Submission, otherwise the Application Form will be rejected.
- Attested copies of (1), (3), (4) & (5)
- Character certificate from Last School attended.
- Online Anti Ragging Notary of both Student and Guardian.
- Printed copy of duly filled application form.
Application Procedure For Online Admission 2023

- Click on Online admission link
- Fill your form accurately
- Wait to receive SMS for user id (Form no.) & password
- Login by using user id & password
- Fill your H.S. Marks, course option, upload Photo, Mark sheet, Caste /PH Certificate (if applicable) & submit
- PAYMENT : Click on “Pay online” and follow steps for online payment by using ATM-Debit/Credit card, Net Banking (No Cash Challan will be available). (All this payment facilities are available with Bank Charges as applicable.)
- Collect acknowledgement receipt for future reference
Eligibility
A student will be allowed to take admission in the Major Course of B.A. if he/she/transgender has passed in at least four (04) subjects with English as compulsory subject in the Higher Secondary [10+2] Examination held by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other Examination which is recognized by the University as equivalent thereto.
Admission will be on merit and availability of seats, provided that for SC/ST Candidates, the minimum marks for eligibility will be as per rules of the State Government.

⦿ University Registration
After admission the college will timely call for filling the University registration forms.( For 2023-24 A.S the Proposed last date of submission 12th September 2023
⦿ Assignment of Roll No
After admission the college will award Roll No. to each student.
⦿ Issue of college identity card
Students will be issued Students’ Identity cards after university registration is done.
⦿ ACADEMIC TERM
Academic SESSION-2023-24
The academic session which normally commences on the 1st day of July of every year but this year it will be from 1st August 2023.
⦿ Refund Policy
In any circumstances, no online application (registration) fees refund shall be allowed. No such application will be entertained.
For obtaining a Transfer Certificate (TC), a sum of Rs.100/- will be charged.

Key Points In University Regulations
➤ One Credit is equivalent to one hour of teaching (Class Lecture or, Tutorial with Special Lecture) or two hours of Field Work/ Extra Curricular Work per week in a semester. One Credit is equivalent to 15 class lectures of 1 hour each (Source: UGC Curriculam and Credit Framework, December 2022).
➤ There will be at least 90 teaching days in each semester excluding periods of examination admission, field work and dissertation.
➤ Major course (MAJ) – 75 marks each [60+10+5] [3 Yr. 16 Courses, 4 Yr 20 courses with Research or, 23 courses without Research but Course 21,22 & 23 contains Research Methodology, Project/Case Study and Group Discussion/Seminar]
➤ Minor courses (MIN) – 75 marks each [60+10+5] [3 Yr. 6 Courses, 4 Yr 8 courses]
➤ Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) – 50 marks each [30+15+5] [3 / 4 Yr 4 courses]
➤ Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) – 75 marks each [60+10+5] [3 / 4 Yr 3 courses]
➤ Value Added Courses (VAC) – 100 marks each [80+15+5] [3 / 4 Yr 2 courses]
➤ Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) – 75 marks each [3 / 4 Yr 3 courses]
➤ Internship/Apprenticeship (IARD) – 50 marks [3 / 4 Yr 1 course]
➤ Research Project/Dissertation (IARD) – 200 marks each (applicable only if the student chooses to pursue Honours with Research) [Research Methodology, Project/Case Study and Group Discussion/Seminar]

➤ All question papers of Major Course will only be in English version.
➤ All Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) and Vocational, if any and Internship will be conducted by the College, and marks will be submitted to the University.
All SEC examinations will be Assignment / Field work / Project / Industry visit based.
